Here is a link to a contest "Why Do I Scrapbook?" Some of these responses were just awesome and some of these LO's brought tears to my eyes. You should really read/look at them. Very cool!

ribbon organizer take 2

OK so here is another idea I just found for ribbon - still not on the rolls but you know, I'm working on it. Oh and BTW Stampin Up has ribbon holders that are fabulous and will hold actual spools. I, however, have a hodge podge of spool sizes so it won't work for me. Anyway, my point, and I do have one - is go here to see this chicks ribbon organizer.

I do believe that should adequately kill enough of your time. :) If you should need more day fillers just let me know - hey you can always create a blog that's dedicated to blog trolling and scrapping. That's what I just did ALL day!!!

12x12 Clipboards

These clipboards are 12x12 and I found them for around $5 each at Oriental Trading. I believe they have some other sizes as well. You can also get them at Archivers. I basically just chose pictures that I wanted to be out on display but not necessarily in frames. I just scrapped them like normal and then used a page protector on top. I then added tons of ribbons to the clip to cover it up some and make it look a little more fun. There really isn't much to it, but you could use this in a kids room too as wall decor. I made mine with the intention of changing out every so often. I think they may end up warping/curling if left out too long.

Canvas

This is a painter's canvas that I have scrapped. There are so many things you can do with this I just love it, plus there are tons of sizes too. On this one I used Mod Podge glue and covered the canvas then layed my paper down on it. I flip it upside down so I can push hard. Be careful because I've found that it tends to bubble some so it really needs to lay upside down for awhile and keep pushing on it. You can also paint on these as well. I attached ribbon to the outside edge of this one, but painted the edge of another. You really need to think out your design on these beforehand. Once something is down it's a done deal. Plan ahead if you are going to use staples, brads, eyelets etc. Some of the adhesive that I've used on these are glue dots, liquid glue from Stampin Up, and then CM's tape runner. I've done 2 others that are smaller but can't seem to find the pics for that either so I will keep looking. Bethany and Shelley and have done these too so post girls post. :)

Picture Cards

These are Creative Memories photo sharing cards. They were sooo quick and easy to make and the daycare parents loved them. They come with an envelope as well so you could mail them. I believe they are under $7 each and come in natural and black. They also come with these 4x6 clear plastic covers for your pictures - keeps them protected. You DO have room for some embellies if you wish and they hold 5 vertical or horizontal pics.

Altered Sign

Well these pics aren't very good, but you get the point. This is something I really did steal from a certain friend's house (betcha can't figure out who that was) and had to dress up for her. Somehow I just knew she'd never get around to doing it herself - ha ha. Anyway... You can do this same idea with a large letter, which I believe this certain someone has one of that needs to be finished so she can post it here. Anyway, there are various different size letters you can buy that are wooden that can be covered and embellished. Spell a name out on a wall or just a large individual letter. I also know Miss Sara has a large kind of 3D paper mache letter or maybe it's chipboard, heck I don't know that you can buy to alter as well. I liked tying the ribbon around it and using the cutie pie clips to hold fun stuff on.

Ribbon Organizer

This is a ribbon holder I made, of course from a stolen - I mean, borrowed idea. I took the spice rack that we've had since we got married and since I scrap way more than I cook figured this was better use of it. (Don't worry, I checked with Byron first. Mostly because I had him drill the holes in the lids so I thought I better get permission - ha ha) Anyway, you can get 5 yards in a jar which is great. And I suppose you can take ribbon off the rolls if you buy it that way. I'm still hunting for the perfect way to organize my spools of ribbon and will post if I ever find one that works for me.

Shadowbox Frames

These are frames that I've made as gifts awhile back. Not too crazy about the black ones now, but that's how it goes, right? Michael's carries these different frames and have a variety of sizes. The white square ones have a hinged door on the front and come with pins to stick into the fabric backing. The black frames have a velvet like back and comes with a sticky velcro strip. Both work fine. I also used Glue Dots to make sure everything stuck well. Both frames are great, because they are so deep and you can put a lot of memorabilia/thick embellies on it. I believe I paid somewhere around $15 but that was probably 40% off. **Shelley has made some really nice ones of these too so maybe we can convince her to post them so we can all see them. ** :)

Picture Tins

EDITED: So warning this is a bit sad, but I felt I should really post it. Great Grandma Shain received one of these tins at Christmas from my Mother in Law. Today(Feb 1st), at 5am she passed away at the whopping age of 103. I'd say it was a life well lived. Here is a picture of her with her tin - not a great picture but as Ali says, use it if it tells a story.
These are photo tins and made great gifts this Christmas. These particular tins are from Die Cut With a View and are very thin but are bigger so if you have large pics that can't be cut down then this would work. I believe they were around $6 each and come with the accordian paper inside. I believe the picture itself ended up being something like a 4x5. You will not have enough room for brads and ribbon etc. When I put the max of pics on there (I think 16) it fills the tin so there is not a lot of extra room to play.
If I can find my pics of these other tins I started out making I will post them here. But just so you know, there are also smaller tins that you can put a small circle, square or rectangle pic in. These fit better in a purse, but you have to work just a little harder to find pics that work. These tins are more like the altoid tins you buy and can be found at www.specialtybottle.com they end up being about $1 each depending on how many you order. You will then make your own accordian paper to fit inside and it will hold up to 12 small pics. This too will not allow for much embellishment due to space, but hey
at least they put together quicker that way.
