I'm back...

So I am just going to try this blog crap out again and not ONLY pertain it to scrappy stuff as before. Mostly I am doing this to make LA happy cause that is my ultimate goal in life, but instead of sending the masses of emails I usually do I'm just going to post once. We'll see how well I do since the last time I posted was April - oh my!

Ok so you have heard me mention this family before – the family with 4 young kids who have traveled around the world and I want to be just like them…. Well, they have made it home after over a year on the road. It truly is an amazing thing that they have done. I, of course, have emailed the mom and asked her to be sure to keep posting once they get home so I can see how this has changed the kids and the family. I am so curious – my point is really that I wanted you to see their last stop – Machu Picchu !! I want the last picture with the family in the pyramid (their signature pose for the entire trip) – anyone want to go with me???

I was tagged...

Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their seven things, as well as these rules. At the end of your blog, you need to choose 7 people to get tagged and list their names. *I'm only doing this cause LA begged with a line from Grey's and who can resist that???*

1. I am a neurotic list maker - just love checking things off - sticky notes are my friend
2. In high school I collected pez - my son now plays with them
3. I HATE to cook - I will clean your toilet if you cook my dinner
4. My husband planned our entire wedding and surprised me with when we were leaving. (we got married in the Cayman Islands)
5. Since Byron planned the wedding then I had to plan our first anniversary which began a tradition of taking turns planning and surprising the other. I LOVE IT! So far we have:
1st: I planned white water rafting
2nd: He planned to see STOMP in NYC (we were already there for a wedding)
3rd: I rented a Harley and we drove through the Smokie Mountains in TN
4th: We veered off a bit here; He got a fishing boat and I got to go skydiving again
5th/6th: we shared this one cause we couldn't decide who got to claim it - we went to Hawaii

6. I do not like to eat leftovers unless it's pizza from a restuarant
7. No one reads this blog but LA so I don't need to tag anyone - HA

ABC baby album

So I've seen baby albums done as ABC's before but it usually contains one pic in say 7x7 size and will have words such as Adorable, Bubbly, Cute etc... Someone recently asked me what I thought about doing a whole 12x12 and doing their first year that way. At first I didn't think it would work but once we got to talking about it I think it would actually be incredibly cute. Almost makes me want to have another just so I could try it. HA! SO here is what we were thinking. Now the pics won't be in chronological order but more of a themed order and would require some planning ahead and organization. If I were to do it I would use CM's black photo boxes and have a labeled divider for each letter -so 26 unless you do your alphabet differently than me. So you will choose which word or words for your pages BEFORE you scrap anything. Then as you develop pics choose which letter you will file it under. So my thinking is it may take a bit before you can actually start scrapping some of these pages. Some of us more anal scrappers may not go for that but here is what I was thinking anyway. Some letters I'm still thinking on so if you have suggestions post them. (You could also make these cutie pie words with cutie pics like A - adorable) You could also choose several letters and have a hodge podge of themes on one page if for example you only have one picture for that word. Something else is you could do the ABC pages mixed in with other pages - maybe after C theme then you also have a 2 page spread about the baby's first Christmas. I don' t know... you figure it out... ;) I'm just the idea lady.

A - adorable, agrivated,
B - birth, brother, first bath, first birthday
C - conception (ha-but you really could put the pregnancy test I suppose), cousins, 1st christmas, crawl
D - daddy, doctor
E - energetic, Easter
F - feet, first foods
G - grandparents
H - first haircut, halloween
I - ice cream, innocent, identical twins, incredible
J - jesus (baby dedication), jack'o latern, joyful, jabbering
K - kisses
L - first laugh, you are loved
M - mommy
N - naughty, and nice
O - ONE - first birthday
P -precious
Q - quiet, quick,
R - roll over, rough house
S - smile, siblings, sister, sit up, slept through the night, st patricks day, summer, swim
T - talk - first words, thanksgiving
U - under (things), upset,
V - valentines day
W - first words, walk
X -eXcited
Y - yell,
Z -zzzz sleep page

a fun idea for an all about ME album

Christy has posted a really neat idea for doing a ME album. You know we've all talked about doing one that wasn't so personal that you wouldn't want to show anyone. Here's an idea she had and she even shared one of mine - I have so dreamed of being on The Prices Right for an eternity - not so much to kiss Bob, but just because I wanted to see if I had a cool enough name OR if I was fun enough while waiting in line that they would pick me. That IS how they do it - I studied up on it you know!!?!? (so as for the image - I googled ME and this was one of the images. I HAD to use it - just to explain my weirdness.) Christy's Blog

Scraprooms...

Since several of you have asked me for scraproom ideas I decided to do a post all about them.

My scraproom is such a work in progress and I someday hope to add in actual cabinets and counter tops, but until then this is working just fine and way better than the cardtable smashed into the microscopic office we shared at the old house. Oh I remember the days of being back to back with Byron as he played on the computer and I attempted to scrap. That was also back in the day when everything scrappy I owned fit into one, yes ONE, wheelie bag. Those were the days - now I dread packing up to go to a crop. Anyway... here is my room, not that inspiring, but I'm not complaining I'm thankful to have a place all my own.

Aren't these cute jars?? I need more. They were only a $1 at Hobby Lobby!!

These tins were another bargain find too. Around $2 at Walmart.

I've added a bunch of links and a few random pics that I've saved along the way of scraprooms. If you come across other great ones let me know and I will add them too. Leigh Ann also mentioned a really good book called "Where Women Create" that I will have to check out next time I'm at the store. You can read about it here: Amazon

Other great places to see scraprooms:
Two Peas in a Bucket scraproom gallery (lots of pages, you may want to hit refresh on your browser to see the most current additions)
Jeannette's Blog (on one of her side bars she has Studios that Inspire and there are a bunch to look at)
Jessica K's blog
I'd imagine between these and then all the links on Jeanette's and TwoP's you should have several ideas! Happy Scrapping!

I need to go take a picture...

Found this quote this morning:

"If these pictures have anything to say to future generations it is this: I was here. I was young. I was happy, and someone cared enough about me in this world to take my picture."

Man - I'm so going to add this quote next to the 3 million pictures I take of my son - then no one can say a thing about how many there are. Gotta go take some pics.
